Since 2005 The Lakota People’s Law Project (LPLP) has been partnering with the Native American tribes of South Dakota. Through law, public policy, research, and education we are challenging the systemic injustices of the last 150 years and working for the renewal of Lakota culture and society.
Our work is led by an experienced team and guided by an Advisory Board that includes some of the country’s leading experts on Native American issues. Our long-term focus has resulted in the development of Seven Strategic Objectives, and our current work is centered around the Lakota Child Rescue Project.
LPLP is a project of the nonprofit Romero Institute. Our work is sustained through the generosity of our supporters.
