The Lakota People’s Law Project develops resources to help Native American families and tribes.
One example is the booklet pictured here. Designed for Indian parents and relatives dealing with the threat—or reality—of a child being seized by the State Department of Social Services, it explains in clear, easy-to-understand a family’s rights under the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). This booklet is currently the only one of its kind in publication.
We will be making this booklet and other resources available for download in the near future.
