Follow your path, my child,
Follow your path, my child,
and you will become a nation.
Song sung by survivors of the Wounded Knee Massacre in 1890.
MISSION
Through law, public policy, research, and education we are working together with the People of the Seven Council Fires—Oceti Sakowin Oyate—to win justice and renewal for the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota peoples.
SUPPORT
Bringing an end to 150 years of injustice requires hope, resolve, and resources. Support our work today: Give Money and Get Involved.
CHILDREN
For more than 100 years Lakota children have been taken from their homes. Today, in South Dakota, more than 3,000 of them children suffer illegally in non-native institutions or foster care. Lakota People’s Law Project is fighting to put a stop to this injustice.
